    <abstract language="eng">&lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Oxidation kinetics of &#xF062;-alanine by chromic acid in presence of sulphuric acid in aqueous medium. First order with respect to substrate and total order is second with respect to substrate and oxidant respectively. Main product of oxidation is acetaldehyde. The reaction is acid catalyzed. Primary salt effect are present. The activation parameter, dielectric constant, catalytic constant are calculated. The possible mechanism for oxidation reaction is discussed.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
