    <abstract language="eng">&lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;A one-dimensional Lanthanum sulphate [C&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;H&lt;sub&gt;16&lt;/sub&gt;N&lt;sub&gt;3&lt;/sub&gt;]&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; [La&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;(SO&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;)&lt;sub&gt;6&lt;/sub&gt;], I, has be prepared by interacting diethylenetriamine sulphate with La&lt;sup&gt;3+&lt;/sup&gt; ions at 100&lt;sup&gt;o&lt;/sup&gt;C. The compound has been characterized with the help of powder x-ray analysis, scanning election microscopy, and infrared spectroscopy. The thermal behaviour of compound I has been studied by thermogravimetric analysis. Compound I crystallizes in monoclinic symmetry, space group P&lt;sub&gt;21/c&lt;/sub&gt; (No. 14) with cell parameters a = 8.3305, b = 17.5000, c = 9.8407&amp;Aring;, &amp;szlig; = 101.610, vol = 143461&amp;Aring;. The inorganic framework [La&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;(SO&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;)&lt;sub&gt;6&lt;/sub&gt;]&lt;sub&gt;6&lt;/sub&gt; - is anionic and charge compensation is achieved by incorporation of two molecules of fully-protonated diethylenetriamine.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
