<p style="text-align: justify;">The present study was primarily initiated to estimate the concentration of various pollutants present in air. The air quality indexing is an easy way for the prediction of air quality status of the Kalyan region. It gives an idea to the public (residents) regarding the hazardous effects of exposure to the daily pollution level caused by vehicles and other factors. During the entire study period, air quality assessment was carried out for different air pollutants viz. NOx, SO2, Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (RSPM), Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM), etc. at some selected sites of Kalyan city. The results showed that air pollution is increasing day by day due to increase in the use and the number of vehicles. The study identifies the potential sources for effective pollution control measures to improve the quality of air in the area understudy.</p>
