<p style="text-align: justify;">A novel aluminophosphate hexamethyleneimine (organo) clay was syn- thesized and characterized by various physicochemical techniques. X-ray differaction shows that it is a short range ordered lamellar type organoclay. SEM shows the phase purity of the synthesized samples. TG/DTA shows the presence of charge balanced ionic template molecules. Framework FT-IR shows the vibrations are similar to other aluminophosphate molecular sieves. Presence of tetrahedral phosphorous and tetrahedral and octahedral aluminium were found by 27A1 and 31P MAS NMR techniques.<br />
